This Sunday, the City of Jackson's Office of Violence Prevention and Trauma Recovery, in partnership with Briarwood Arts Center, will host the Grief Arts Party. The goal is to offer a forum for area adults who have been affected by violence to express their grief in a healthy, healing way through creative expression and art.
The event hopes to also build community, reduce isolation, and provide mental health and trauma recovery resources. The Grief Arts Party is part of the "100 Days of Action" initiative of the OVPTR to continue to confront gun violence and crime in Jackson at the root level. It will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 30 at the Briarwood Arts Center located at 614 Briarwood Drive.
