JAN’s board consists of two board seats per city ward, along with one seat for a past president. Each board member can serve for one term of three years and be re-elected by the Board to only one additional term of three years. The president, vice president, secretary and treasurer serve two-year terms and can be re-elected for one additional year by the Board.
Some JAN board members also serve as chairs of a JAN committee while all JAN board members serve on a committee. Two new committees – Emergency Response and Love Jackson Parks – join current JAN governing structure: Communications, Finance and Grants, Membership and Neighborhood Strengthening. Committees include board members and anyone outside of JAN interested in volunteering.
