Community Input Request: City of Jackson Water System

Milton Chambliss

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency hosted two public meetings on October 10 and 11 to provide updates on the current state of Jackson’s water system and to receive feedback from residents on what is and is not working.

Some residents have seen improvements in repairs, technology, and customer service. Others raised concerns about long-term sustainability and management, more in-depth customer service improvements, extra fees, and locale. “I think it was a big mistake to set up operational offices in Pearl outside the city of Jackson,” Jackson resident Milton Chambliss said. “This facility right here (Mississippi E-Center at Jackson State University) would be suitable for a call center and operation center. I would encourage them to end that lease and establish a presence in Jackson.”

Jackson residents should email public comments to jacksonmswater@epa.gov by Friday, October 31, 2024.
