Briarwood Arts Center November Calendar and Updates

Good afternoon, BAC Family!

As the holiday season approaches, our hearts are filled with gratitude. We are thankful for our committed staff and volunteers. We are thankful for the community partners and teaching artists that have contributed their time, resources, and talents to our mission. We are thankful for the children and adults that have come from all over the city, the state, and the nation to take part in the holistic community programming that's offered at BAC. As of today, Briarwood Arts Center has welcomed 6,020 guests to our curated events over the 25 months that we've been open. Every shared post, every referral, and every testimonial that you all have passed along has made it all possible. WE ARE THANKFUL FOR YOU!

We've received 42 responses to our feedback survey. This information is vital as we will be entering a strategic planning process in the near future. While our work seems to be effective, we have PLENTY of room for improvement to better serve our city. Please let us know if you would be willing to take part in more in-depth discussions about areas in which we could grow.

As a reminder, we have a free libraryfree recycling programclothing donation bins, and a weekly volunteer meeting for folks looking to get involved. With help from our volunteers, BAC offers a Homework Club, Academic Writing Lab, and Job Skills Consultant by appointment. Tax-deductible donations can be made via CashApp to $BriarwoodArtsCenter. We also accept cash, check, Paypal, Venmo, or donations directly to our Community Foundation Fund. We have set a fundraising goal of $20,000 to help cover our operating expenses through the end of the year.

I've attached the November 2024 calendar for your reference. Save the date of November 17th from 3pm-5pm for our MomsGiving Celebration hosted by MS Alliance of Maternal Advocates (MAMA). Leading up to the event, we are hosting a Baby Drive to collect items for the moms (see the attached flyer).

Finally, our 3rd Annual Trunk-Or-Treat will commence as planned this Thursday, October 31st from 4pm-7pm. We have an indoor site arranged in the case of inclement weather.  We look forward to seeing you soon! See ya at BAC!

God bless!

Stephen Brown
